Wedding planning checklist

Wedding checklist by month.

What to tackle a year, six months, a month and a week before the wedding. Timing is a guide except for formalities: those follow Czech statutory deadlines shown at the relevant step.

Enter the date to give each phase a deadline. The timeline assumes about a year of planning.

Adapting the checklist

What a general checklist cannot know.

An online list is a starting point. It becomes useful when every task has a person and a date.

  • Task, person, date

Instead of “flowers”, write “confirm bouquet numbers and table decorations with the florist by 1 June; Jana responsible”. A task without a name and date stays unresolved.

  • Dependencies

You cannot send invitations without a date and venue, build seating without responses, or give the kitchen counts without the seating plan. If one step is late, move the steps that depend on it too.

  • A shorter lead time

A wedding can be prepared in three to six months. Start with the registry office and venue, choose available vendors and simplify things with long lead times, such as bespoke outfits or printed invitations.

Tasks in the Kruspin app

A checklist template for future weddings.

Save a task list as a template in Kruspin. Its deadlines are relative to the wedding date, so dates are calculated for each new wedding.

  • Task lists

A template holds tasks by section, with deadlines relative to the wedding date, such as “3 months before”. Applied to a new wedding, that becomes a specific date.

  • Save as template

Save selected tasks from a wedding that worked into a template. Specific calendar dates become offsets from the wedding date.

  • Internal, client and shared

Choose who sees each task. The couple sees client tasks and can mark them complete; internal tasks stay with the team.

  • Starter sets

When creating a wedding, apply a set that adds a task list, timeline and RSVP questions together, according to its contents.

Who should manage the checklist?

One person overseeing the whole plan: the coordinator or one of the couple. Every task then has one named person, even if several people work on it.
